| The beautiful Candler Building was conceived of and personally developed by Asa Candler, the then-leader of the Coca-Cola Company. Built in 1906, it was the tallest building in the city at the time. Though it has been surpassed in height, the grandeur of its marble, mahogany, brass, and tiffany crystal remains unmatched. The intricately detailed facade and main lobby contain sculptures and friezes dedicated to the world's leaders in art and science. All the stonework was created using Amicalola marble from North Georgia that was personally Recent renovation and modernization has greatly revived the building, creating a building that is both exquisitely grand and also functional in a modern world. The Candler Building is a symbol for both a bygone era of opulence as well as a tribute to a company that has and continues to shape the city.
